These training notes were officially printed by NPA on paper from their archives.
These notes were not printed for circulation and are not regarded as legal tender.
They were produced by Note Printing Australia for limited circulation within the banking system and were used to support banks with training their tellers. By using notes that looked and felt like Australia's circulating notes, tellers could receive an initial level of training without the cost and security normally associated with the handling of cash.
As the images and table of specifications will show, these training notes were specially printed using genuine silk fibre banknote paper and were printed in the same colour and size as our circulating paper notes.
The paper used to produce these notes was sourced from Note Printing Australia's archives - it had originally been prepared for the production of a five-shilling note in 1946 that did not enter circulation
