Perth Mint Pre-Decimal Type Set Collection in Leather Case
This set contains the following coins:
Halfpenny; Penny; Shilling and four gold sovereigns
In official leather presentation case, with certificate of authenticity.

This is a handsome and affordable set that represents the pre-decimal coins struck by the Perth Mint.
The Perth Mint was established in 1899 and produced circulating pre-decimal coins for Australia right up until decimal currency was introduced in February 1966.
Gold sovereigns were struck by the Perth Mint between 1899 and 1931, pennies were struck from 1922, while halfpennies were struck from 1942.
For some reason, this type set doesn't contain any half sovereigns, let alone one of each design type issued by the Perth Mint between 1901 and 1918.
Despite that minor oversight, this is an excellent overview of the circulating coinage struck by the Perth Mint between 1899 and 1966.
The coins, case and certificate all remain in excellent condition.
