This important colonial coin has strong detail and full reverse legend.
As one of the first coins struck on Australian soil, this incredibly rare coin is fundamental to any collection of Australian coins.
The historical importance of the Dump is often overlooked, yet it played just as much of a role in solving New South Wales' currency woes as the Holey Dollar.
In fact, the way Henshall cut and struck the Dump determined whether both coins remained in circulation.
The relatively high clearance rates for this coin at recent auctions however show that values are at a level where broad-based interest in them is active.
Nearly all of the cheaper Dumps that remain in existence have some qualification to their grade - they have a major cut, knock or corrosion that detracts from us appreciating the coin's history.
This particular Dump has much detail in the crown on the obverse and has all of the legend evident on the reverse.
This is a solid example of one of the first coins struck on Australian soil.
