Australia has been producing mint year sets packaged with a "baby" theme since 1993.
The coins in mint sets are just the same as those we see in circulation, but are in perfect condition.
Baby mint sets are produced in far lower numbers than standard mint sets, so they are far harder to get.
Couple this with the fact that those parents & grandparents that didn't get them when they first came out are willing to pay over the odds to get them, and these sets are great to put away.
The design theme for the 2018 Proof Baby 6-Coin Year Set is "Possum Magic", and is based on the much-loved illustrated children's book by Mem Fox.
Possum Magic - A Much Loved Australian Illustrated Children's Book
The two main characters in the book are Grandma Poss and Hush - Hush has been made invisible by Grandma to protect her from Australian bush dangers.
The story details the duo's adventures as they tour Australia searching for the secret to Hush's visibility.
Fox wrote her first draft for Possum Magic in 1978, during a course in children's literature at Flinders University. Over five years, nine publishers rejected the draft. When it was accepted by Omnibus Books in Adelaide they asked Fox to reduce the four-and-a-half page book, then titled Hush the Invisible Mouse, by two-thirds and to change the mice to Australian animals to place emphasis on her Australian theme.
The Wikipedia record describing the book states that as of 2011, Possum Magic had sold three million copies!
The presentation sleeve features a blank family tree that can be customized for the newborn's family, as well as a section that can be used to all of baby's measurements and birth details.
There's also an open panel that a photo of the newborn can be inserted into.

Even to the untrained eye, the graphic design is elegant and restrained - the album card and sleeve has a timeless look to it, and is sure to look just as good in 5, 10 or 20 years time as it does today.
Most importantly, the coins themselves have an obvious, high quality finish - they are easily far better quality than the coins we see struck for circulation, and exhibit a vivid cartwheeling lustre.
