Very few silver kangaroos were distributed in this format.
The Royal Australian Mint began striking silver one-ounce coins with a kangaroo reverse in 1993 (this is the first in the series), they are all now hugely popular with silver bullion coin collectors right around the world.
It was actually something of a groundbreaking product for the RAM - here is the first coin ever made by the RAM that has even a vague relationship with the silver bullion price.
Whereas the value of other series of coins is determined solely by their collector appeal, the market for the silver kangaroos is underpinned by the bullion price of silver.
The silver kangaroo coins are even rarer in these boxes - Australia Post commissioned the RAM to produce a tiny number for distribution through Australian post offices throughout 2000, it's not known exactly how many were struck, what is known is that they're much tougher to get than the carded versions.
The coin, case, outer shipper, and certificate are all included and remain in excellent condition.
