1998 Ten Dollar Folder Blue and Grey Tenners
Front: Dame Mary Gilmore at right
Back: Henry Lawson at centre
Mintage: 2,000
Just 2,000 of these scarce 10 dollar sets were released.
The market for Australia's circulating polymer banknotes had become reasonably sophisticated by 2002 - collectors were able to distinguish between different varieties of the new notes entering circulation and could identify what was scarce and what was not.
The ANDA Coin, Banknote, and Stamp shows held across Australia each year have long been an important venue for collectors to meet and exchange information - this folder of notes was released at one of the ANDA Coin, Banknote, and Stamp shows held in 2002.
Just 2,000 folders were prepared - each contained the following notes:
2 * R316a 1993 Fraser Evans $10 notes in Uncirculated condition
1 * R316cF 1998 MacFarlane Evans AA98 First Prefix $10 note in Uncirculated condition
1 * R316c 1998 MacFarlane Evans $10 note in Uncirculated condition
Incredibly, each of the four notes in the folder has matching numbers in the serials - a feat that could not be achieved by a collector working on their own.
The notes and folder all remain in excellent, as-issued condition.
