This is one of the scarcer folders released by NPA.
When polymer technology was introduced to Australia's circulating currency between 1988 and 1996, world-wide demand for Australian notes sky-rocketed.
Note Printing Australia (NPA) introduced a range of collector products featuring the last of the old paper notes and the first of the new polymer notes, and these were hugely popular.
The most popular (of the many!) products released by NPA were the "First and Last" folders.
These were released on the same day each new polymer denomination was issued into circulation - a very limited number had the date embossed on the cover of the folder.
The $20 embossed "First and Last" folders include a last prefix paper $20 note in them (it has the ADK serials, which indicate that it was one of the very last printed), as well as a first prefix $20 polymer note with AA94 serials.
They are keenly sought by collectors, and are regarded as being a reasonable equivalent to Uncirculated coin sets - the notes included are the same as those that could be obtained from circulation, but remain in "mint" condition.
It's crazy the price you can get these folders for relative to the catalogue value of the individual notes they contain.
Both the folder and the notes included here remain in excellent condition.
