1949 One Pound Coombs/Watt R31 Extremely Fine
Front: King George VI at right, window at left, the denomination with serials and signatures at centre.

This scarce KGVI pound note has strong and original paper.
King George VI came to the throne in 1936, and was Australia's head of state during our sesquicentennial (150th anniversary of settlement); World War II and the Korean War. King George VI died on February 6th, 1952.
Coombs Watt is the third signature combination on Australian notes featuring King George VI, one pound notes with these signatures were issued between July 25th 1949 and August 1952.
This particular note looks to have circulated for a short period of time - it has some folding evident in the paper, but retains sharp corners and edges.
