Wonderful detail and lustre remaining.
The first characteristic of this coin that is evident when it's held in the hand is the rich, straw-yellow lustre that abounds across both sides.
The flan remains full right the way around the circumference of the coin, and aside from a minor nick at the top of the obverse, it remains largely free of wear or contact marks.
The letter below the rose on the obverse appears to have been double-struck but is the "B" indicating the Bristol Mint, this attribution is confirmed by the crown mintmark seen at the top of the reverse.
The reverse shows small fleurs in each of the spandrels, completing the attribution.
While there is some doubling in the obverse legend, the fine detail in the king, shield and boat all remains sharp and clear.
The legend around the perimeter of the reverse remains sharp and distinct - the patina on this side has to be seen in the hand to be fully appreciated.
The Rose-Noble or riyal was introduced during the reign of Edward IV, this is a truly attractive example.
