It’s been a few weeks now since IAG had their 82nd consecutive auction on the Gold Coast - this is fortunate for me as I had a terrible cold at the time (diagnosed as man flu by un-named, entirely not male members of my nuclear family I might add), so I’ve had some time to recover from that weekend.

The 2015 ANDA Melbourne Coin, Note and Stamp show is now a distant memory, for those of you that weren’t there, you’ll be pleased to hear it was well attended by both dealers and collectors - it was almost like the good o’ days!

The queue on the Saturday morning was out the main door, no sooner were the main doors open than the show floor was coursing with buyers scrambling about to...

Our annual roadshow to Melbourne takes place this weekend, 22-23 August 2015. Although the venue for the successful 2014 ANDA Coin, Note and Stamp show was Dallas Brooks Hall in East Melbourne worked for everyone just fine, unfortunately the ANDA committee were advised when they went to re-book that it was slated for demolition!...

The Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes is to many collectors what the form guide is to punters - a printed publication that you must have.

Whether it stays on a dealer's desk (like mine does) or in a collector’s back pocket when they’re out and about at a dealer’s shop or at a coin show, it’s a common acquisition for many collectors, no matter what they...

Noble Numismatics 109 Auction is now done and dusted - as the room that the auction is normally held in wasn't available for the full 4 days that this auction was scheduled to be held, there were over 5,000 lots jammed into 3 days, rather than 4.

Throw into this equation the fact that Noble's needed to make use of a new online bidding platform, as well as the fact their usual...

It’s been a little over a month since we had our numismatic journey across 3 states in a week or so, let’s take a brief look over each auction first, and I’ll review the statistics afterwards:

International Auction Galleries Postal Sale 5: This was perhaps the first solely-online auction held by one of Australia’s mainstream numismatic auction houses, so was notable...

The Australian numismatic market has been fundamentally affected in the past two years or so by the advent of the PCGS registry set.

This new factor in the market has fundamentally altered the way many Australian coin collectors build their collections, and may well have permanently changed coin collecting in Australia.

This article explores just what...
