2001 Federation Three Coin Unc Set QLD

Queensland Federation commemorative

A vital part of the biggest commemorative coin program in Australia since decimal currency was introduced.

Demand for memorabilia was in a boom period leading up to the and during the Centenary of Federation, coins sets were particularly popular as they were officially produced by the Australian government.

All in all there were ten different commemorative fifty cent coins; nine different commemorative twenty cent coins and one commemorative one dollar coin issued in the Centenary of Federation commemorative coin series, easily the biggest stimulus the Royal Australian Mint has given to Australian numismatics since the introduction of decimal currency.

Although most collectors wanted to go for the complete set, some folks were happy to get the coins from their home state (let's not get measure mintage figures to see which state was the most parochial), and as these sets were sold to a very wide market right around the country, a complete set including each state and territory is very hard to get.

The mintage of the QLD Uncirculated trio is just 13,050 sets.

The coins in this set are in perfect condition, as is the packaging.
