Arguably our most valuable Bicentennial commemorative.

The Australian commemorative $200 gold coin series was introduced in September 1980, some eight months after the gold price peaked at around US$850 per ounce.

The series ran until 1994, with mintage figures declining each and every year along the way.

The 1988 $200 coin features Captain Arthur Phillip stepping onto Australian soil for the first time.

When you consider that a limited edition $200 coin can be bought for less than $100 above "melt" value, you can see these coins are excellent value for money.

Each coin contains 9.167g of solid 24ct gold, which is equivalent to 0.2947 ozt AGW.
